This piece is structured as a study of pictorial reinterpretation, taking as its primary reference a photographic capture of renowned dancers in the midst of a performance. The conceptual objective of the work does not reside in a faithful copy of the photograph, but in translating the stage language and the body of dance into the plastic matter of acrylic. The composition captures a frozen moment of intimacy. The scene is dominated by a background saturated in meteorically crimson red, worked with textured layers that create a sense of a closed and passionate space. This high-temperature, flat background acts as a visual catalyst that violently projects the figures to the foreground, emphasizing the emotional charge of the scene. Vida AMReyes. In 2010, he graduated with honors from the prestigious Carlos Enrique Gómez Academy of Fine Arts. There he consolidated an exceptional technical training in oil painting, acrylics, and drawing from life, foundations that would later shape his conceptual hallmark. His early career unfolded amid the Cuban cultural ferment, actively participating in young art salons and group exhibitions. His work quickly began to stand out: in salons and exhibitions he earned numerous prizes and mentions. AMReyes’s work is distinguished by a visceral, imposing realism that captures the gaze instantly. However, his proposal does not stop at mere photographic mimesis. On anatomies worked with rigor, or faces charged with deep psychographic expressiveness, the artist overlays and integrates icons, allegories, and conceptual elements: wings that seem invisible to the bearer, hanging threads, dense blocks of color, or garments laden with symbolism. For her, the human body and the everyday figure are the perfect canvas on which to reflect on identity. This fusion between technical mastery and symbolic narrative opened the path to international visibility. Over the past decade, his pieces have been acquired by private collectors and galleries in: Spain: where his conceptual language connects with European expressionism. United States: integrated into private collections dedicated to contemporary Latin American art. Belgium and Poland: exhibited at figurative art fairs and avant-garde galleries. Russia: acquired by collectors fascinated by the technical rigor and the school of realism. Currently, AMReyes resides in Spain, the country where he has established his studio and consolidated a new creative phase. Distant from the fast commercial noise, he continues to develop his artistic life with patience and rigor, exploring painting as a tool of universal introspection.
