Description from the seller
From the series: “Velo” (XL) Acrylics on canvas. 88X70CM
In this series, the tulle is not just a veil, but a skin sewn by hand, where irregular and disorderly stitches cut through the fabric like footprints of an emotion that cannot be contained or fully explained. That imperfect seam, loaded with intention, reflects a deeply human gesture, the attempt to hold onto the ephemeral, to fix the intangible.
In this piece I explore intimacy, light, and the very materiality of the support through a contemporary figurative approach in mixed media.
I build the human figure with an expressive, facetated brushstroke in acrylic, where the roundness of color planes and the work with chiaroscuro sculpt the facial anatomy and sustain a gaze of great dramatic intensity. The speed and opacity of the acrylic allow me to maintain a lively and direct finish, working the skin through the tactile juxtaposition of warm tones and cool shadows without losing the freshness of the stroke.

These works are a form of experimental therapy undertaken as an unparalleled means to achieve self-satisfaction, becoming a trilogy where the canvases and the installation language also delve into a series of psychological junctions decipherable only from a self-referential stance. In both, the intentionality leads to marginalization of technicism, for what matters is to establish that kind of mirror of the soul that exposes a controversial personality, which apparently true satisfaction has long been denied to. Emergence from mutism goes beyond mere representation, achieving to illustrate what inevitably could not be expressed in words. It is a kind of outward scream by hands and heard with the eyes, a look inside a complex being.
Avid for well-being with others and with oneself. Gamut contrasts and complements, cool or warm brushstrokes, neutral at times, recurring figures marking the intent; all structured to bifurcate into how I am and how I think. Painting and installation, in this case, have been merely the medium to release through the act of creation negative feelings nourished by indecisions, complexes and emotions, that shape a controversial behavior.
With this show, I, as an artist, unfold before the public with the treatment of a difficult topic from which it is obvious that it will cost me a bit to detach, not because of any risk of a stylistic label, but for the simple fact that I still owe myself many debts. Let this intimate topic thus be the impetus for further appearances of my works in the European art scene, where I can continue rethinking my approaches to mutism and also keep emerging from it.
The works are an introspective therapy that, through contrasting colors, varied brushstrokes, and woven figures, express complex emotions and negative feelings. This creative process transcends words, reflecting the search for internal balance and connection with others.
