Although he demonstrates a rigorous virtuosity in academic drawing and classical portraiture, Carabajal consciously yields himself to biomorphic abstraction and formal synthesis. His current work engages in a direct dialogue with the constructive legacy of 20th-century avant-gardes —evoking the universes of Miró and Picasso— through the use of defined contours, pure primary colors, and organic symbolism. In his most recent creations, the artist reinterprets the Swiss landscape and iconic architecture (such as the vistas of Zurich) through abstract graphism, automatic drawing, and the continuous line, transforming the environment into a living record of a constantly evolving spirit.
