Born in 1928, Legendre embarked on a high-level artistic path studying under renowned masters. He was a pupil of Robert Couturier and subsequently deepened his sculpture studies with Marcel Grimond. Throughout his career he received important institutional recognitions, including the prestigious Blumenthal Prize for Art in 1954 and the Brantôme Prize for sculpture in 1965.
Maurice Legendre’s works are still highly sought after by collectors and regularly appear in international auctions, mainly between the United States and Europe.
