Johannes Leonardus Kagie, better known as Jan Kagie sr., was a Dutch painter and draughtsman. He was born in 1885 in The Hague, where he lived and worked for most of his life. Initially Kagie worked as a house and decorative painter, after which he dedicated himself entirely to自由 painting.

His oeuvre includes, among other things, landscapes, still lifes and figure studies. In addition to his own artistry, Kagie was active as a teacher. He taught, among others, his son Jan Kagie and artists such as H. van Leeuwen, Chris Snijder, Ben de Kreek and Jan Vermeulen. Kagie died in 1971.
