World middleweight champion from 1949 to 1951 after defeating champion Marcel Cerdan, he withstood the fiercest blows without faltering, hence his nickname of "Raging Bull" (enraged bull).
He had fierce clashes with Sugar Ray Robinson, notably the famous "St. Valentine’s Day Massacre" which took place in Chicago.
Jake LaMotta passed away in 2017 at the age of 95.
