Description from the seller
ASTRAM - Sgt. PEPPER'S - BEATLES
The iconic cover of the Beatles' 1967 album is considered by critics to be their greatest work and one of the most influential albums in the history of popular music, ranking, among others, at the top of the list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time."
Recorded over a period of 129 days, it is the first rock album to win the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, and the cover receives the Grammy in the graphics arts category.
The drum skin bearing the album title was painted by carnival artist Joe Ephgrave, who at the time did not know he was creating one of the most emblematic works of pop art. In a corner, a Shirley Temple doll wearing a sweater reading "Welcome The Rolling Stones" winked discreetly.
Ultimately, the Beatles embraced their own mythology while toying with it. Perhaps that is why it remains as relevant as ever.
The ASTRAM parody blends the 20 characters (apart from the Beatles) who appeared - or not? - on this cover and playfully hides certain details as a nod to this Flower Power period flourishing among one of the best rock bands in the world.
Keywords: Bob Dylan- Elvis Presley - Groucho Marx - Charlie Chaplin - Oscar Wilde - Buffalo Bill - Mae West
Alfred Hitchcock - Stuart Sutcliffe - Tyrone Power - Aldous Huxley - Sri Yukteswar Giri -
Shirley Temple - Arthur Rimbaud - Winston Churchill - Albert Einstein - Stan Laurel -
Marilyn Monroe - The Rolling Stones - Flower Power - Astram - Psychedelic Art - Stained Glass -
Hippies - Series - Pop Art - Beatles
ASTRAM is the pseudonym of pop artist Richard Saint-Amans, who creates works in which he imagines offbeat situations, inviting each viewer to read it through their own imagination. His attachment to the pop years and beyond is expressed in unique and renewed creations.
His works are present in several galleries and can be found with many collectors around the world.
The colors are here frozen in the glass of this plate, embedded and protected from light and UV, to relive our best memories with a photo of optimal sharpness on a vivid acrylic glass.
Thanks to the glossy finish, the image can achieve maximum expressiveness from every angle. A photo on acrylic glass looks like an art exhibit and gives each piece a refined aesthetic.
