Meissen - Jug - Porcelain

A beautiful Meissen porcelain pitcher in the "Blue Onion" (Zwiebelmuster) pattern, hand painted in underglaze cobalt blue.
The piece follows a rococo, baroque inspired relief shape, featuring a scalloped rim with raised relief leaf points, sculptural seashell motifs on both sides of the collar, and an acanthus leaf relief handle.

Markings: Hand painted crossed swords and some markings on the underside.
The model number 165 is incised into the porcelain as well as the year mark "13" and a the 1961 mark.

Condition is very good. The scalloped relief, seashells, and handle are all clean and intact. A beautiful piece overall.
