Compass Box Amici Ad Vitam – 30th Anniversary of Bresser & Timmer
A highly limited and exclusive bottling from Compass Box, created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Dutch whisky importer Bresser & Timmer in 2023.
Named “Amici Ad Vitam”, meaning “Friends for Life”, this special Blended Scotch Whisky was created to celebrate thirty years of friendship and business partnership between Hans Bresser and Auke Timmer. The whisky brings together malt and grain whiskies distilled in years that hold particular significance in the history of Bresser & Timmer.
The blend was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and recharred barrels, an Oloroso Sherry-seasoned butt and custom French oak casks. Compass Box has created a rich and full-bodied whisky, combining tropical fruit and creamy custard with subtle peat and warming spice.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich and creamy, with vanilla, tropical fruit and hints of custard, complemented by subtle smoke and malt.
Palate: Full and oily, with tropical fruit, rich malt, creamy sweetness and gentle spice. Hints of dried fruit and oak add depth.
Finish: Long and evolving, with subtle peat smoke, warming spices and lingering sweetness.
Only 630 bottles were produced, making this a particularly interesting release for collectors of Compass Box and limited Dutch whisky bottlings.
