Jonathan Guaitamacchi was born in London in 1961, and lives and works between Milan, London and Cape Town. He graduated in painting from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan.
In his résumé he lists numerous exhibitions in Europe, China, South Africa and America. Known to the general public for his expansive visions of global cities, urban landscapes and panoramic views that move from one place to another, Guaitamacchi paints landscapes whose dissolute nature comes directly from memory, from the recollection that binds the artist to the English territory and to the Anglo-Saxon culture from which he comes.
Among the most important exhibitions of the master we recall: British Black Galleria Biasutti Torino, Galleria Russo, Rome, Milan; Locations, Smac Gallery, Stellenbosch, Cape Town (2009); Linguaggi del mondo, 53rd Venice Biennale, Palazzo Querini, Venice (2009); Jonathan Guaitamacchi at Campus Point, Politecnico di Milano (2010); West Lake International Art Festival, Hangzhou, China (2009); New York New York, Galleria Forni, Bologna (2008); Qualcosa di personale – trasformazioni di un secolo breve, Palazzo della Borsa, Sala delle Grida-Genova (2008); Acquisizione e Esposizione “Collezione Farnesina” Ministero Affari Esteri, Roma (2008).
The provenance of the work is from Grafica Manzoni Gallery, which issues the certificate of authenticity.
