Victorian Miniature Postal Balance – 925 Sterling Silver – Cohen & Charles – Birmingham – 1899
Rare mechanical miniature postal balance for desk in sterling silver 925/1000, made by the English goldsmith Cohen & Charles and hallmarked in Birmingham in 1899.
This model is documented in auction catalogs under the name “Victorian Silver Novelty Postal Scales.”
Pendants perfectly legible: C&C, Birmingham anchor, rampant lion, and date-letter. Also a registration number Rd is present.
