IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN – 14K GOLD – CAL. 83 – CIRCA 1944/1945
A beautiful and elegant vintage IWC Schaffhausen wristwatch from the mid-1940s, housed in a solid 14K gold case. Its refined proportions and small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock perfectly capture the timeless character of fine Swiss watchmaking from this period.
At the heart of the watch is the highly regarded IWC manufacture Calibre 83, movement no. 1,103,910 – a hand-wound mechanical movement with subsidiary seconds, beating at 18,000 vibrations per hour. Calibre 83 was produced between 1935 and 1947 and remains one of IWC’s notable historic movements.
