At the bottom the canvas pools into a very dark green, almost night-like, where the leaves are perceived more than seen and slender stems rise in lines of verdigris. As you rise, the tone broadens: pink enters first in patches, then fills the entire field, and the leaf imprints glow with light pink and cream on a raspberry background. The surface is built up through layering, with short, grainy touches that allow the texture of the canvas to surface and return a continuous vibration. The contrast between the depth below and the light above creates a breath, a movement toward the light. It remains an impression of fullness, luminous and tranquil.
