Description from the seller
Spatial Rhythm
MiLo (1976), Netherlands
Spatial Rhythm is a bold abstract composition built around the interaction of black and off-white forms. Broad geometric areas are interrupted by curves, openings and irregular transitions, creating a balance between structure and movement.
The reduced palette gives the work a strong graphic presence, while subtle imperfections and variations in the painted surface keep it distinctly tactile and handmade. Depending on how the eye follows the composition, the shapes can suggest fragments of architecture, passages or overlapping structures without becoming fully representational.
The painting can be displayed vertically or horizontally, with each orientation creating a different balance and spatial reading of the composition.
A contemporary statement piece suited to both minimal and more eclectic interiors.
About the Artist
MiLo is a Dutch contemporary artist whose work explores abstraction through strong contrasts, simplified forms, scratched and painted surfaces, and an intuitive approach to composition. His paintings have found their way into private collections throughout Europe and internationally, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Sweden, the United States, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
