Description from the seller
Ancient Arabic manuscript on parchment – 19th century Description
Arabic manuscript in black ink with rubricated red highlights, comprising about 40 pages printed on both sides (nearly 80 pages written).
The work is written in an elegant Maghrebi or Near Eastern script, carefully laid out within ink-drawn frames.
The old brown leather binding with gold stamping features a geometric and floral Islamic-inspired decorative motif.
The text is handwritten in black ink, with certain words or passages highlighted in red in accordance with the traditional use of religious and literary manuscripts in the Muslim world.
The content seems to belong to Islamic religious or devotional literature, several passages containing invocations and references to God ("Allah"), without a complete identification of the text being possible from the pages photographed alone.
A fine exemplar bearing witness to the Arabic manuscript tradition of the 19th century, preserving its authentic character despite signs of use, browning, damp stains and some wear at the margins and binding consistent with its age. floating booklet
