The piece depicts the face of the famous character Mario, entirely formed by a multitude of tiny stylized human silhouettes. The composition unfolds on a uniform sepia background, creating a stark contrast with the dense weave of dark figures. The iconic details, such as the large eyes, the rounded nose, and the mustache, are defined with precision by the varying density of these individuals. In the shadow areas and on the hat logo the silhouettes thicken, while they thin out in the lighter areas to catch the light. Toward the outer edges, the tiny elements separate and seem to disperse into the void, giving the figure a suggestive dissolving effect.
