Description from the seller
Dutch Amsterdam School Sculptural Oak Side Table with Architectural Curved Legs, 1930s
Origin: Netherlands
Production period: 1930s
A characterful round oak side table reflecting the expressive geometry and architectural craftsmanship associated with the Amsterdam School. Its two-tier construction combines a broad circular tabletop with a practical lower shelf, creating a balanced union of display space and everyday function.
The defining feature is its sculptural support structure. Sweeping curved legs frame the open body of the table, while a contrasting straight support extends subtly above the tabletop edge. Broad flared feet anchor the composition and strengthen its architectural profile. The interplay of curves, vertical lines and circular tiers produces a distinctive silhouette from every viewing angle.
The tabletop is finished with carefully arranged oak grain radiating from the centre, reinforcing the geometric character of the design. The warm brown finish highlights the natural texture of the wood and gives the table a strong presence in both period and contemporary interiors.
Well preserved, with an attractive age-developed surface character and a composed overall appearance. It will be shipped exactly as shown in the photographs, so please examine all images carefully.
Dimensions: H 59 × W 62 × D 55.5 cm
