The surface shifts from a light, powdery gold to a deep, earthy brown, with an intermediate band of coppery light where the glow seems to concentrate. In this transition, a stripe of pink flowers opens: broad, satin petals, alternated with dark almost garnet corollas that give weight and depth to the composition. Toward the top, the colors thin into minute points, pink and orange, which disperse like pollen suspended in the air. The background is built for a densely accumulating succession of short touches, which bring the underlying layer to the surface and multiply tonal variations. It results in a warm, vibrant image, capturing a bloom in the full swing of its ascent.
