Description from the seller
Statement
Tonino Cimino is an Italian artist active for about thirty years. Self-taught, he has built his path through constant pictorial research, developing over time a personal and recognizable language.
Throughout his career he has participated in solo and group exhibitions, competitions, prizes, and art fairs in Italy and abroad.
Among the most significant experiences is the collaboration, lasting about eight years, with the Atena Gallery of Como, in addition to the multi-year collaboration, for about five years, with the San Giorgio Gallery of Portofino.
He has also collaborated with Art Events Mazzoleni of Bergamo and has held a solo show at the Il Broletto Gallery in Milan.
His exhibition activity includes international experiences, including a group show in Nice, France, exhibitions in Germany and participation in the Innsbruck Art Fair in Austria.
He took part in important Italian fair events, including Arte Genova, Arte Padova, Arte Piacenza and Arte Parma, as well as numerous group exhibitions.
In his path there is also participation in a competition organized by the Association Il Kosmo, the selection among the semi-finalists of the Arte Prize 2012 and participation in a group show at the Wikiarte Gallery in Bologna in 2014.
Over the years Cimino's painting progressively evolved toward an increasingly personal synthesis of the landscape. In his more recent works, large skies, solitary trees, horizons and fields become protagonists of suspended atmospheres, built through intense colors and strong chromatic contrasts.
His painting does not seek a photographic representation of nature, but an emotional and poetic dimension, transforming the landscape into a space of silence, light and contemplation.
