About the painting:
The painting depicts a vibrant and charming Parisian café scene with a distinct Fauvist and post-impressionist style. A woman with dark hair tied back in a bun sits in profile on the left. She rests her chin on her hand in a pensive, daydreaming pose, looking out the large window. She is wearing a simple black V-neck top, large red button earrings, and a striking white skirt adorned with bold blue leaf patterns. In front of her sits a small, round café table holding a green espresso cup on a saucer and a golden, flaky croissant served on a blue-rimmed plate. The interior features bistro chairs with a classic red-and-white checkered pattern. In the bottom right corner, a vase with blue motifs holds a lush bouquet of bright pink flowers with dark centers. The floor is painted with a playful, mosaic-like pattern of colorful pastel tiles. On the pink interior wall behind the woman hangs a framed picture featuring a blue cutout leaf shape, a direct nod to Matisse’s famous cut-outs. Through the large green-framed window, a classic Parisian street perspective unfolds. Elegant yellow and beige Haussmann-style buildings with blue roofs and wrought-iron balconies line the street. A traditional black lamppost stands near the center of the view. Silhouettes of people walking down the street add a sense of daily city life. On the right, a green Morris column (colonne Morris) displays a poster that reads "EXPOSITION ART," adding to the cultural theme of the piece. A red awning frames the top of the window, completing the Parisian aesthetic. The artwork uses bold, flat areas of saturated color—specifically bright pinks, deep blues, vibrant greens, and cheerful yellows. The black outlines and expressive shapes give the entire scene a whimsical, cheerful, and highly artistic quality.

About the artist:
My name is Corina Madalina Schröder. I was born in Timisoara, Romania, in 1969 and grew up in the Satu Mare region (Transylvania). I came to Germany at the age of 43. I lived and worked there in Bad Säckingen am Rhein until 2023. The direct proximity to the Swiss border, the central location in Europe and the diversity of the people there gave me many creative influences and so I painted in a very modern and lively way and was able to present my pictures in many exhibitions. (including Germany, Belgium, Italy and Switzerland).
In June 2023 I moved with my husband to beautiful, sunny Spain, to Benijofar, south of Alicante. Here, strongly influenced by the wonderful sea, the great light, the friendliness of the people and the Mediterranean atmosphere, my passion for painting received new impulses.
I love painting. Even as a child, I was fascinated by using pens and brushes. I always went forward courageously, learned a lot and my artistic talent was born into me through my mother, who was a painter and art teacher. So I started not only painting but also creating all sorts of things. Be it sewing, knitting and modeling with clay. I love individual design and today especially expressive painting.
Especially in today's fast-paced times, where people are quick to evaluate and harshly comment, I find it particularly important to be able to calmly and calmly indulge in the joy of one's own creativity. Without “right or wrong” but just completely ME...
Since the beginning, my works have been exhibited in several german and international exhibitions, art salons and galleries, such as: Brugge, Madrid, Venice, Bucarest, Basel, London, Paris etc...
