Valdi builds in this work a portrait in which the female figure and nature seem to be part of the same universe. Surrounded by large flowers and small fruits, the woman appears absorbed in her thoughts, as if everything that surrounds her were a visible extension of her inner world.

The composition unfolds on an intense blue that enhances the luminosity of whites, yellows, greens and oranges. The lines that run over the flowers and the hair create a strongly marked graphic rhythm, while the vegetal abundance contrasts with the serene and contemplative attitude of the figure.

In Thought in Bloom, blossoming also functions as a metaphor. The flowers can be understood as ideas, memories and emotions that grow around the protagonist until transforming the portrait into an image between the real and the imagined.
