“Inconscious Flight,” rises as a lyrical self-portrait of doubt and merit. The composition, a fusion of figurative realism and expressive brushstrokes, captures a suspended moment where the central figure, a dancer at rest, wrestles between her own perception and the surrounding reality. I built the dancer’s figure with solid three-dimensionality through firm brushstrokes and vibrant points of light. This technical precision celebrates the discipline and triumph of the body, while the warm tones and the solid structure of the pedestal give it a firm and luminous base. By giving this rich, tactile, and luminous texture to the bluish wing, I make tangible what the dancer does not yet see, a structure of light and volume that confirms the absolute certainty of her own potential, unfolded and ready for flight. In 2010, she graduated with honors from the prestigious Carlos Enrique Gómez Academy of Fine Arts. There she consolidated an exceptional technical mastery in oil painting, acrylics, and figure drawing, foundations that would later shape her conceptual hallmark. Her early career unfolded amid the Cuban cultural fervor, actively participating in young artists’ salons and group exhibitions. Her work immediately began to stand out: in salons and exhibitions she earned numerous awards and commendations. AMReyes’s work is distinguished by a visceral and imposing realism that captures the gaze instantly. However, her approach does not stay at mere photographic mimesis. On a rigorously studied anatomy or faces loaded with deep psychographic expressiveness, the artist overlays and integrates icons, allegories, and conceptual elements: wings that seem invisible to the bearer, suspended threads, blocks of dense color, or garments laden with symbolism. For her, the human body and everyday figures are the perfect canvas to reflect on identity. This fusion of technical mastery and symbolic narrative opened the way to her international projection. Over the past decade, her pieces have been acquired by private collectors and galleries in: Spain: where her conceptual language connects with European expressionism. United States: integrated into private collections dedicated to contemporary Latin American art. Belgium and Poland: exhibited at figurative art fairs and avant-garde galleries. Russia: acquired by collectors fascinated by the technical rigor and the school of realism. Currently, AMReyes resides in Spain, a country where she has established her studio and consolidated a new creative phase. Far from fast commercial noise, she continues to develop her artistic life with patience and rigor, exploring painting as a tool of universal introspection.
