From above, a golden rain settles thickly on the ultramarine blue of the background, thinning as it descends until leaving the pure, deep color. In the central band, flowers with pale petals open, white and light pink, supported by very thin green stems that run straight down to the lower edge. Dark spots and coppery granules are distributed around the corollas and give the surface a mineral density, almost like wrought stone. The matter alternates the velvet of the background with the thicker paste of the petals, which rise and catch the light. The contrast between gold and blue builds an atmosphere suspended, both nocturnal and warm. A precious image, of rare chromatic intensity.
