Biography
Rob van Oosten (1963) began painting in his teenage years. By, among other things, copying 'old masters,' he then discovered what oil paint could do. However, his career did not head toward the artist’s path, but he became a teacher. In addition, he continued painting. For many years these were still lifes with flowers, vegetables, and fruit, but he noticed that he could not express his creativity sufficiently there. That changed when he started adding sand to his work and began using materials such as putty knives and steel brushes. His work became rougher and increasingly moved toward abstraction. Rob finds his inspiration in life. That can be beautiful, but it also has many rough edges.

Work of Rob van Oosten has now found its way to private collections in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, Portugal, Spain, France, and Greece.
Recent sale exhibitions were in the ‘Tree Museum’ in Doorn and at ‘Castle Amerongen’.
