A rare and exceptional Cubist work, a major piece by the artist. Beautiful polychrome palette and a perfectly constructed Cubist composition. A highly sought-after work.
Painted circa 1999, signed and dated bottom right, original work.
Oil on marouflaged canvas: 33 x 19 cm, collage of antique sheet music around the violin.
Original gallery framing is included: 50 x 35 cm.
A. Koupetzian, student of Martiros Saryan (1880-1972), the greatest Armenian artist.
Koupetzian became famous for his Cubist compositions, known as Synthetic Cubism, originally invented by Braque and Picasso around 1910.
After embracing this style in the 1970s, A. Koupetzian managed to develop it considerably by adding depth and colors never seen before.
The works are widely present in exhibitions and national museums in Russia, Italy, USA, the United Kingdom and China.
