Le Yack - Now, Voyager - Hand signed

On the teak deck of an transatlantic liner slicing a sea of deep blue, a 1930s-era woman with a crinkled wave in a long white satin backless dress with a slit turns toward the spectator, the fabric billowing in the wind. Behind her, the red-and-black banded chimney, the deck chairs, a coil of rope, the foam trail and seagulls circling in the summer sky. Semantically, the scene embodies the glamour of the great crossings of the interwar period: the flowing dress in the wind, the mythical ocean liner, the move toward elsewhere. The satin white of the dress concentrates the light on the blues of the sea and sky. A smooth and refined finish, with spray and a meticulously traced wake, the spirit of Art Deco illustration.

Le Yack, emerging French pop and street art artist. Alexandre Pelletier, known as Le Yack, was born in 1972 in Tours. During his studies, he joined the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design (ESAD) in Orléans. He is an artistic director in publishing and on the web. Instagram @leyack45. He is exhibited within a network of about forty galleries in France, Germany, Belgium, the United States.
