Le Yack - Death on the Nile - Hand signed

On the wooden deck of a felucca with the great white sail billowing, a brunette woman with a crimped hairstyle from the 1930s stands, in a long coral silk backless dress, one hand on the mast, gaze turned toward the shore. Beyond the sparkling turquoise water rise a pharaonic temple, palm trees and desert hills. Ethnic-pattern cushions adorn the deck. Semiotically, the scene embodies the glamour of interwar Oriental cruises: flowing silk, the ancient felucca, ancient ruins — travel as theater of elegance. The coral of the dress bursts like a single flame against the blues of water and sky and the ochers of the shore. A sleek, polished finish, straightforward sunlight, the spirit of Art Deco illustration.

Le Yack, a French emerging pop and street art artist. Alexandre Pelletier, known as Le Yack, was born in 1972 in Tours. During his studies, he joined the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design (ESAD) in Orléans. He is a art director in publishing and on the web. Instagram @leyack45. He is exhibited in a network of about forty galleries in France, Germany, Belgium, the United States.
