Large armorial-covered jar in hard-paste porcelain of the Indian Company style – Maison Samson – 19th century
Imposing and large baluster-covered jar in hard-paste porcelain, crafted by the famous Maison Samson (Paris, 19th century), in refined imitation of the armorial export porcelains of the East India Company (Kangxi / Qianlong era, 18th century).
Decor:
The principal face bears a substantial alliance coat of arms in Rocaille style, topped by a crest in the form of a leopard/lion stylized head.
The other face is adorned with a rich floral decoration of Asian inspiration (Famille Verte / Famille Rose) composed of sprays of branches, peonies, prunus, and precious enamelled emblems.
