Large original ship’s helm carved from solid wood, 110 cm square with eight spokes, weight about 10 kg, dating from 1970–1980, in good aged condition with minor wear and patina on the metal hub.

According to the previous owner, the steering wheel came from actual naval use. The former owner himself owned a ship on which this wheel was used.
The massive central hub has a key groove/keyway for fastening to the steering shaft. The separate key is no longer present. A manufacturer’s marking is not discernible on the wheel itself.
The wooden rim is composed of several solid segments and connected with wooden pegs. All 8 spokes and handles are fully present.
