Andy Warhol turned Jackie Kennedy and Liz Taylor into two of the greatest Pop Art icons of the 20th century, placing them in a select group of muses alongside Marilyn Monroe. The story behind these portraits, however, goes far beyond mere superficial glamour: both series are part of his deep obsession with fame, the media, and tragedy, largely encompassed within his conceptual theme Death and Disaster.
