pier - La petite robe verte

"La petite robe verte" is a work belonging to the Collages series. It was created using mixed media: collage, acrylic paint and pastel on a page from an old Atlas International Larousse. It measures 44 cm high by 27 cm wide. It is signed at the bottom left as well as on the back with the title and the date of execution. It comes with a certificate of authenticity attached to the shipment. Its overall condition is perfect.

This work on paper is shipped duly protected in a cardboard envelope.

Who is Pier?

Son of parents working abroad, Pier, alias Pierre Sullice, spent his childhood and adolescence in Latin America. It was during his stay in Ecuador, thanks to the friendship of his son‑in‑law, that he discovered the work of Oswaldo Guayasamín and became drawn to the plastic arts. Since that day, he has continually nurtured a passion for painting, particularly modern and contemporary.

After studying modern literature and philosophy, Pier joined the Fémis before writing his first fiction screenplay, the tale of a painter exiled in the Cévennes who discovers a materialist approach to painting thanks to a person with Down syndrome. Titled “The Transparent Woods,” the screenplay won the Cent Premières œuvres, a competition initiated by France Télévisions. Pier made the film himself, which was broadcast on France 3, RFO and TMC and won prizes at numerous festivals.

Without renouncing writing, reading and audiovisual animation, Pier continues exploring the plastic arts, creating numerous collages inspired by drawings by children. In 2023, after bringing his audiovisual career to a close, he settled in the Gard to devote himself exclusively to painting.

Thriving in his Lecques studio, Pier broadens his pictorial research by working on supports in recycled paper or decorative canvases on a stretcher, using acrylic paint, markers or pastel. In so doing, he openly aligns with an Art Brut and Cobra current, which owes as much to Chaissac as to Karel Appel, Alechinsky or Lindström. By blending spontaneity and humor, he forges a personal path that leads to a treasury of characters that are both surprising and endearing.
