“Permanence”

This work is a visual introspection of the soul. A journey inward, a silent dialogue with the emotions and thoughts that are often kept hidden.
The loose brushwork and vibrant colors reflect the complexity and intensity of my own emotional world. I seek to convey the vulnerability and the strength that coexist in the human being, exploring the relationship between the inner self and the outer world.

Each stroke is a fragment of my history, an invitation to reflection and to connection with your own essence. I hope this work inspires you to look inward and to discover the beauty that dwells within you.

Vida AMReyes. (Granma, Cuba 1991) discovered from a very young age that drawing was not just a hobby, but a way to translate the world. In 2010, she graduated with honors from the prestigious Academia de Bellas Artes Carlos Enrique Gómez. There she consolidated exceptional technical dexterity in oil painting, acrylics, and life drawing, foundations that later would shape her conceptual signature.

Her early years of career unfolded amid the Cuban cultural fervor, actively participating in young art salons and group exhibitions. Her work began to stand out immediately, winning numerous awards and mentions in salons and exhibitions.

AMReyes's work is distinguished by visceral and imposing realism that instantly captivates the gaze. Yet her approach does not stop at mere photographic mimesis. On anatomies worked with rigor or faces loaded with deep psychographic expressiveness, the artist overlays and integrates icons, allegories and conceptual elements: wings that seem invisible to the bearer, suspended threads, blocks of dense color, or garments laden with symbolism. For her, the human body and the everyday figure are the perfect canvas to reflect on identity.

This fusion between technical mastery and symbolic narrative opened the path to her international projection. Over the past decade, her pieces have been acquired by private collectors and galleries in:
Spain: Where her conceptual language connects with European Expressionism.
United States: Integrated into private collections devoted to contemporary Latin American art.
Belgium and Poland: Exhibited at figurative art fairs and avant-garde galleries.

Currently, AMReyes resides in Spain, the country where she has established her studio and consolidated a new creative phase. Far from the fast commercial noise, she continues developing her artistic life with patience and rigor, exploring painting as a tool of universal introspection. Her studio today is a space of constant creation, where every brushstroke continues to reveal those truths and hidden icons that we all carry inside, but that we often find hard to see.
