Splendid and authentic traditional Balinese painting dating from the 1970s, signed on the bottom right by the artist I N Rauh and bearing the geographic origin indication Penestanan Kelod (the famous art village located just outside Ubud, Bali). The work is a perfect and vivid example of the renowned art movement "Young Artists,” born in the 1960s under the influence of Dutch painter Arie Smit. The style is distinguished by a naïve, geometric, and vividly colored portrayal of the island’s rural life. Characteristics of the work: Subject: A rich scene of Balinese daily life and agricultural activity. In the foreground, farmers are seen harvesting rice and going about daily tasks, surrounded by dense and lush layered tropical vegetation, coconut palms, and a stream.
