About the work
Sensibilidad arises from an intimate and seemingly simple scene: a woman immersed in reading. However, the figure moves away from a literal representation to become a composition of shapes, lines and color planes that suggest an interior state.
Through a language of abstract cubism and contemporary figuration, C. Del Barrio fragments the figure and plays with irregular geometry, gestural lines and color to express concentration, introspection and sensitivity. The face and figurative elements do not seek realistic definition, but rather leave space for the viewer’s interpretation.
The work is part of a personal artistic line in which the artist combines figuration, abstraction and symbolism, seeking every piece to maintain a balance between visual strength and breathing room.

About the artist
C. Del Barrio is a multidisciplinary Spanish artist whose work sits between contemporary cubism and figurative abstraction.
Initially trained in Arts, she also has a professional background in music as a lyric singer, keeping painting as a parallel creative language.
Her works seek to move away from conventional representation to create images with identity, character and interpretive capacity, always maintaining a connection with the viewer.
Her pictorial language combines recognizable figures with fragmented forms and geometric structures, creating characters and scenes open to different readings.
Music and performing arts constitute an important part of her creative universe and appear recurrently, both directly and symbolically, in her works.
