Labelled `Stainer - - Violin - Germany

Beautiful very old 4/4 Stainer copy from the last quarter of the 19th century. The violin presumably originates from Bohemia. The violin looks good, has only a well-repaired crack that may be as old as 100 years, repaired from the inside. The violin is small for a 4/4 violin, but certainly not a 7/8 violin (see measurements). Extremely suitable as a ladies' violin. The violin speaks easily and has the typical warm Bohemian tone. The measurements are: Total length 58.6 cm; Mensur (scale length) 32.1 cm; Body length 35.2 cm; Waist 11.2 cm; Upper bout width 36.5 cm; Lower bout width 20.0 cm.
