Contemporary figurative sculpture in brass, made entirely by hand.
“Encounters III – Dialogues” belongs to the series “Encounters,” a group of sculptures in which the artist explores human relationships, communication, and the bonds that form between people.
The work depicts six figures gathered in three small groups around tables, creating different spaces for encounter and communication. Each group seems to develop its own dialogue, while at the same time being part of a collective composition.
The figures are constructed in a schematized way using brass sheet and metal thread elements, giving special prominence to the heads, made through woven thread. These open structures contrast with the sheet bodies and symbolize the complexity of thought, emotions, and everything that happens inside each individual.
The arrangement of the figures creates an apparently everyday scene, but translated into a contemporary and essential sculptural language. The tables act as points of connection: places where people meet, share, listen, and form bonds.
“Dialogues” refers both to the conversation among the figures and to the invisible exchange of ideas, emotions, and experiences that occurs in any human encounter.
The artisanal character of the piece is fundamental. The brass sheet has been cut, formed, and worked by hand, while the thread elements have been shaped and assembled one by one. The construction of the figures requires meticulous work of balance, proportion, and welding/assembly.
The result is a visually light composition, yet rich in detail, where the metal takes on a narrative and human dimension.
