Claude Le Baube (1919-2007), original oil on panel painting Sohère Armillière, a square 80 × 80 cm nature morte allegorical with a sphere armillaire, calyx and ewer, dating to around 1960 and signed in the lower right, in very good condition with a multicolour palette including green, yellow, brown and gold.

Artist: Claude Le Baube (1919-2007), official French painter of the Merchant Navy.
Technique: Oil on panel (Isorel).
Period: Circa 1950.
Dimensions: 80 x 80 cm (large square format).
Signature: Signed "Claude Le Baube" at the bottom right.
Subject: Rare and important allegorical still life with a scientific theme. The composition features an armillary sphere, a chalice and a ewer in the foreground, opening onto a mysterious background scattered with ancient astronomical instruments (astronomical telescopes, dials).
Condition: Very good overall original condition. Vivid colors, sound material. Back in good condition featuring two old inventory labels at the top right.
