Description from the seller

Impressive and spectacular vintage freestanding sculpture in fine glazed majolica, depicting a majestic roaring tiger seated with its tail elegantly wrapped at the base. At 52 cm tall and weighing 5.5 kg, this piece represents an iconic item of Italian mid-century modernism from the 1970s, fully in the Hollywood Regency and Maximalist style. The work is entirely hand-finished, with a splendid glossy glaze "under glass" that enhances the vivacity of the orange coat and the sharp contrast of the shaded black stripes. The plastic rendition evident in the body profile, the taut musculature, and the proud expressiveness of the face demonstrate the high craftsmanship of the Veneto ceramic tradition of the era. A true statement piece of furniture, with enormous visual impact, perfect for grand entrances, design salons, or eclectic professional studios. Conditions: Excellent vintage condition, structurally intact and solid. The glaze preserves its original shine.
