Founded in Limoges, the Lanternier house became known for its fine porcelain and luxury pieces intended for tableware. After the arrival of Alfred Lanternier at the end of the 19th century, the manufacture took the name A. Lanternier & Co. It distinguished itself notably at the Paris International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in 1925, where it won the prestigious Grand Prix. The cups and saucers are in very good condition; see photos.
