Alarm clock, Table clock - Veglia - Wood - 1950-1960

Offered is a distinctive mid-century Italian alarm/table clock by Veglia, dating from approximately the 1950s.

The clock has a particularly attractive sculptural wooden case with an organically curved silhouette and richly patterned horizontal veneer on the front. The combination of the unusual case, large silver-coloured dial and chrome-finished bezel gives the clock a characteristic Italian mid-century appearance.

The dial is signed VEGLIA and marked MADE IN ITALY.

The rear shows the original mechanical clock construction, including the winding and adjustment controls. The original Veglia manufacturer’s tag is also present on the rear of the case.
