Photographer: J.-Jacques Damiens (Photo Damiens studio, 10 Avenue Émile Zola, 24120 Terrasson-Lavilledieu, Dordogne). Local photographer who covered the on-site filming; French nationality. Birth/death dates not documented.

Subject: Anthony Perkins (1932–1992), American actor, photographed on the set of the TV film Les Misérables (1978), an Anglo-American production by Glenn Jordan, produced by Norman Rosemont Productions / ITC (Incorporated Television Company), in which Perkins plays Inspector Javert alongside Richard Jordan (Jean Valjean). Filming partly took place in Dordogne (Domme, Sarlat-la-Canéda, Abbaye de Cadouin), as confirmed by the CNC / Film France fiche.

Date of capture and print: 6 June 1978 (handwritten date on the reverse of each print). Vintage prints, made on the same date as the shooting.

Process and technique: Black-and-white gelatin silver prints from the period (silver gelatin prints), mounted on matting/card for one of the three copies.

- Anthony Perkins in city attire, a bag over his shoulder, in front of his dressing room (tag “HAIR” visible); dedication “Thanks for [...], Tony Perkins”.

Exterior filming took place notably around Domme, Sarlat-la-Canéda and the Abbey of Cadouin, in Dordogne — a shoot that left a mark on the region and sparked local curiosity, as evidenced by the presence of onlookers (including children) visible in one of the photographs.
