VIMOPAR - HUMBABA sin melena, XXL.

VMP is a Spanish visual artist, PhD in Art and Research, whose practice combines contemporary figurative painting with experimentation in film and animation. Numerous awards and selections attest to a consolidated and recognized artistic career.

This original piece of 130 × 101 cm, created in 2026, is a mythological study of Humbaba. In Sumerian and Akkadian mythology, Humbaba was a giant, guardian and lord of the cedar forest in the “Land of the Living,” where the gods dwelled. In this work, Humbaba is depicted without a mane and without aggressive teeth: a child Humbaba who dreams.

It is proposed that the viewer confronts the painting as an object with its own internal laws, rather than seeking behind it a confession, a trauma, or a personal story. It is not denied that the viewer may read metaphors, but it is rejected that the practice be traversed by the obligation to produce them. The interest lies not in encoding a hidden world, but in explicitly organizing the visible world.

This painting is oil on premium cotton. The canvas is 100% raw cotton, primed by the artist with Lefranc & Bourgeois gesso. Dimensions: 130 × 101 cm (framing surface), with extra canvas to facilitate handling. All materials used are of first quality. The process begins with acrylic and culminates in glazes of Liquin and oil; Note: the brushstrokes that appear in the photos with MOKUP (the framed ones) have some artificial intelligence. To assess the true painterly treatment of the work, it is important to look closely at the images that do not have mockups. The result is very satisfactory and I am especially happy with it.

Shipping is carried out ONLY with the canvas rolled, protected with bubble wrap and cardboard or a rigid support, guaranteeing its proper conservation during transport.
