Description from the seller
Mid-century Czech art glass vase – Josef Hospodka for Chřibská Glassworks (circa the 1960s)
Beautiful, monumental vintage design vase of Bohemian art glass (hutní sklo), designed by the renowned glass artist Josef Hospodka in the 1960s for the renowned glassworks Chřibská Glassworks in the former Czechoslovakia.
This spectacular piece is characterized by its organic, sculptural form reminiscent of an open flower or tulip. The vase is fully hand-blown and features a refined color gradient (sommerso technique) in which a lively yellow- and lime-green core is beautifully encapsulated in a thick layer of clear crystal glass. The base tapers into a heavy, undulating foot that is characteristic of Hospodka's iconic designs.
A timeless decorative collectible that fits perfectly within a Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, or Eclectic interior.
