Manit (Filip Maćkowiak) is a Polish graffiti artist. He graduated from the School of Contemporary Art in Szczecin. His painting journey began at the end of the 1990s. His fascination with graffiti appeared when he was 12 or 13. Together with a group of friends he founded the WFK Crew. Those were the true “old school” days – it wasn’t easy: there was no internet and no access to graffiti-focused press. In 2003, wanting to see the world, he went to London; living there in squats, he deeply got to know the urban vibe. For the following years he lived in the Benelux countries, where he created at many graffiti festivals and events (so-called jams) with the VAC (V13) crew, operating in Belgium, Germany, France and the Netherlands. He currently lives in Poland and still paints murals and other works. He has sold many of his paintings to collectors and galleries around the world.
