The background shifts from a light, powdery gold at the top to a full, vibrant red that occupies the entire lower half, like soil warmed by the sun. On this field rise white flowers with broad, light petals, supported by slender green and brown stems that rise straight and orderly, almost like a musical score. The white is built in thick layers, with barely bluish reflections that clearly detach it from the red and make it seem illuminated from within. Around it, the surface is all grainy, made of short touches that hold the pigment and vary it continuously. The result is an image of great chromatic energy and, at the same time, calm: a few light flowers that hold their own against an intense color without being overwhelmed by it.
