World middleweight champion from 1949 to 1951 after defeating champion Marcel Cerdan, he absorbed the most violent blows without flinching, hence his nickname the "Raging Bull" (angry bull).

He had brutal confrontations with Sugar Ray Robinson, notably the famous "St. Valentine’s Day Massacre" which took place in Chicago.

Jake Lamotta passed away in 2017 at the age of 95.
