Bonsai Ginepro Procumbens in Tanuki style with deadwood (Jin), total height from the pot 29 cm, crown width 45 cm, trunk diameter 6 cm, in a plastic cultivation pot 17 × 13 × 7 cm, originating from Japan.
Description from the seller
Juniper Procumbens Bonsai – Tanuki work with deadwood (Jin)
Scenic Style with a Natural Antiquity and Aged Effect
For sale an intriguing specimen of Juniper Procumbens set up with the classic and appreciated Tanuki technique (Phoenix Graft). The living plant has been skillfully laid and fused onto a deadwood element (Jin), giving the whole a dramatic, antique look, as if the tree had fought for years against the harsh mountain weather.
The composition offers a wide and balanced crown of 45 cm that develops horizontally with a semi-draped/stage-like stance, creating a dynamic contrast between the dense green foliage and the protruding dry branches.
DIMENSIONS AND DETAILED MEASUREMENTS:
Total height (from pot): 29 cm
Crown width: 45 cm
Base trunk/structure diameter: 6 cm
Technique: Tanuki with deadwood (Jin)
Pot: Cultivation/setup plastic 17 x 13 x 7 (H) cm
CHARACTERISTICS AND STRENGTHS:
Well-Established Tanuki Technique: The visual graft onto dry wood gives an immediate sense of maturity and age (vétusté) that would normally take decades.
Wide and dense Crown (45 cm): Healthy, compact Juniper Procumbens foliage with the typical deep green color and short, well-defined needles.
Robust trunk (6 cm): The base offers solid, stable proportions, perfect for a future repotting into a definitive ceramic display pot.
Excellent specimen to finish: Ideal both as a collectible piece ready for visual impact, and for those who wish to continue wiring and cleaning the deadwood (Jin liquid).
Professional packaging: Careful shipping with complete immobilization of the pot and reinforced protection for branches and dried wood.
QUICK CULTIVATION TIPS:
Exposure: Outdoor plant only. Requires full sunlight to keep the foliage dense and prevent inner branches from shedding leaves.
Watering: Water thoroughly when the surface soil is dry. Evening misting over the crown is excellent in summer.
Deadwood treatment: Periodically apply Jin liquid to the dry parts to whiten them and protect them from moisture.
Hardiness: Very rugged, tolerates winter cold very well.
