Description
Striking vintage ceramic vase by Dümler & Breiden, one of the well-known West German pottery manufacturers associated with the mid-century modern ceramic movement.
The vase has a distinctive sculptural form with a rounded body, narrow waist and wide flared rim. It is finished in a dramatic dark brown/black and cream speckled textured glaze, creating a volcanic, lava-like appearance. The irregular surface and contrasting glaze give the piece a very strong 1960s–1970s West German / Fat Lava aesthetic.
The underside bears the original impressed D&B Dümler & Breiden factory markings and production numbers.
