Traditional Japanese Urushi Lacquer and Maki-e Gold Decoration – Handcrafted Echizen Lacquerware Box with Raised Golden Cranes
An elegant Echizen lacquerware box decorated with a graceful flock of cranes in flight. The glossy black lacquer creates a striking contrast with the gold, copper, silver, and red details.
The two prominent cranes are rendered with noticeably raised decoration, giving the design depth and a refined three-dimensional appearance. Numerous smaller cranes in gold tones surround the central pair, creating a dynamic and harmonious composition.
The interior is lined with pale fabric, making the box suitable for storing jewellery, accessories, letters, keepsakes, or other treasured small objects. A leaflet marked “Lacquerware from Echizen” is included.
