Beer mug - Porcelain - Reservists' Mug (1896–98)

Historic Bavarian Reservist Tankard – Sergeant Philipp Kraushaar, 11th Company / 17th Infantry Regiment “Orff” Germersheim (Service period 1896–1898)

Original reservist tankard made of porcelain with a pewter lid and lithophane bottom image (translucent image in the bottom when viewed against the light). The tankard shows military scenes, Bavarian state colors, the regiment number 17, and inscriptions such as “Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit” and the owner’s name in monogram form “Unteroffz. Philipp Kraushaar”. The lid is topped with a Bavarian lion as a thumb rest.

Condition
In age-appropriate preserved condition with nice patina. The porcelain shows no cracks or chips; light signs of wear and rubbing on the base ring and painting. The lid is firmly and functioning mounted. Note on defect: the original tin figure mounted on the pewter lid (soldier figure) is missing at the top point (hole in the lid knob).
